Student Visa Conditions

A student visa holder is required to:
  • be enrolled in a course listed on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). CRICOS registered courses are delivered on a full-time basis. maintain satisfactory course progress.
  • maintain satisfactory attendance where enrolled in an ELICOS or High School program
  • provide their contact details to Holmesglen, within 7 days of arrival in Australia (address, mobile and email), and ensure these details are updated as soon as changes occur.
  • maintain Health Insurance for themselves and their family members for the duration of their student visa.
  • ensure they do not exceed the work limitations attached to their student visa. On a student visa, students cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight* when your course is in session (other than work which has been registered as a part of the course). No work limits apply during recognised periods of vacation offered by your education provider.

Students cannot undertake work until they have commenced their course in Australia.

*A fortnight means any period of 14 days commencing on a Monday and ending at the end of the second following Sunday.
