Excursions & Recreation Activities

The International Centre and the Institute’s Student Services organise regular activities and trips to places of interest at weekends and during school holidays. 

Activities include:

  • Tasmania Tour
  • Beach weekend – Learn to surf
  • The Red Centre & Ayers Rock Tour
  • Sydney and Gold Coast Tour
  • Hepburn Springs Relaxation Trip

The Recreation Staff aim to make your stay at Holmesglen more enjoyable and fulfilling. You can get involved in:

  • Inter TAFE/University Sports
  • Lunch time activities
  • Free food and entertainment
  • Social functions

Check the notice boards around the Institute for regular updates about forthcoming trips and events. Student Services also produces a Recreation & Activities booklet each year containing all the upcoming events. Book early as places are limited.

Sporting Activities

Holmesglen offers a wide range of Sporting opportunities for Holmesglen students to join teams in the sports listed below. Numbers are strictly limited, so you will need to get in quick.

  • Indoor Soccer
  • Beach Volleyball 
  • Basketball
  • Ten Pin Bowling 
  • Indoor Cricket 
  • Netball
  • Table Tennis

The Holmesglen Sporting Teams compete against other teams in local competitions around the Chadstone/Moorabbin/Waverley area. The sports team’s fees are heavily subsidised, so fees will never be more than you can afford as a Holmesglen student. The Holmesglen Sporting Teams are very social and let you get to know the other Sports Stars at Holmesglen. Look out for sign up posters in February/March and get in early as spaces are limited.
